Ron Black

Motivational speaker Ron Black will be the keynote speaker at the AGC of Alaska annual conference set for Nov. 7-10 in Anchorage. Black is known for leading companies and audiences to higher levels of performance. With a friendly enthusiasm and hard-hitting “ponder points,” Black captivates audiences and challenges their thinking to help them radically improve profits, strength and growth.

His core competencies in business, leadership and projects were forged hands-on. As the founder of several companies (construction, distribution and technology), a former Fortune 500 marketing vice president and a management consultant (since 1988), Black has experienced and dealt with the inevitable challenges of growing resilient companies in turbulent markets. Called in by lenders, venture capitalists and senior management, he has turned around four troubled firms and boosted the performance of more than 250 top organizations.

Black has been published by Penguin Group and MacMillan Publishers Ltd., and his third book, “Leadership: The Everyday Superhero’s Action Guide to Plan and Deliver High-Stakes Projects,” hit Amazon’s Hot New Releases list. His clients include many notable organizations including: the University of California, Los Angeles; Intel; Boeing; ADT Tyco Fire & Security (now Tyco Integrated Security); Eaton; CONEXPO-CON/ AGG; Independent Electrical Contractors; Schneider Electric; the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency; the U.S. Army’s Special Operations Command; and many others. Black has presented at more than 2,000 meetings and conferences in 47 states and on four continents. He resides in the Pacific Northwest, is a former U.S. Marine, an avid trail-runner, a cook for his lovely wife, and the proud papa of three grandchildren.

His ponder point for the 2018 AGC of Alaska conference participants is, “Are you in control of your business … or just going along for the ride?” Please join us for both of his timely and engaging programs.
